Current Mox benefits are ending March 31st 2026 and the new Mox Plus benefits will be revealed in detail on April 2nd 2026. This page previews the new Mox Plus.

For existing eligible Mox customers, you would have received an email like the one below in the first week of March 2026.

In the second week of March 2026, an email like the one below was sent out.

What is changing with Mox Plus (Mox+)?

1, Fact: Existing benefits for eligible balances will remain according to Mox communications shared above.

  • HKD 4 to 1 Asia Mile, 0% foreign transaction fee
  • 2% cashback on eligible spend
  • 3% cashback on supermarket spend
  • Switching between cashback and Asia Miles for free ($50 fee waived)

2, Fact: New benefits will be added

  • Up to 3.5% PA on HKD savings applies up to $5m
  • Metal card
  • Priority service

3, Fact: Existing eligible benefits will decrease from April 1st, 2026.

  • HKD 10 to 1 Asia Mile from HKD 4 to 1 Asia Mile

I think Mox will keep the 1.95% foreign transaction fee waiver as this benefit is a key differentiator vs other cards in Hong Kong. Any losses to the Mox business is offset by the increase to HKD 10 per Asia Mile.

4, Speculation: Eligible balance for Mox Plus will be higher, based on Fact #2.

Based on Fact #3, it will be at least 2.5x higher (HKD 10/HKD 4). HKD 250K x 2.5 = HKD 625K. That's an ugly number to remember, so marketing will round it up. Mox as a business is not profitable (yet), so HKD 625K will not have an impact. More likely I think is HKD 1m, which is a round number and is now competing with HSBC Premier. That's probably also why there's a new metal card to flash around when you pay right?

5, Speculation: Cashback will decrease to 1%, based on Fact #2

If it takes 2.5x more HKD to get 1 Asia Mile (10 instead of 4), then applying the same math 1/2.5 = 0.8% cash rebate instead of 2% if you don't meet the eligible balance. Due to marketing, it will be 1% cash back and not 0.8% as a 0.8% cash back card does not sound good.

Supermarket cashback will remain at 3% just to stay competitive with other cards.
