GHA Discovery status matching to Titanium is a no-brainer if you already have top-tier status on airlines, hotels or via credit cards. You can get your money's worth in as little as 1 day when traveling as a family or as much as 3 days when traveling solo.

I will flip the script and tell you how to match first before discussing the benefits as you probably know something about status matching and have a higher or top tier status at other loyalty programs already and know what the deal is.

How to match

The current campaign ends April 6th, 2026.

Simply go to https://ghadiscovery.statusmatch.com/, screenshot and upload picture proof of your current status at other hotels, airlines, cruise programs or credit cards, and pay

  • USD $100 to match to GHA Platinum.
  • USD $150 to match to Titanium.

For the full list of status matching programs and tiers, visit the official FAQ. You are definitely more likely to find matching to GHA Titanium to be more worth it as I will detail further below.

The requirement is no editing of the screenshot, including cropping, and the screenshot must clearly show your name, loyalty program number and tier. You can easily do this by clicking on the Account button/tab in the bottom right of the Hilton and Hyatt mobile apps.

Marriott app is less obvious. You have to click on Account in the bottom right, then click on Wallet because the Account page does not show your tier using words. Only the background color provides a hint as to what tier you're at. See the screenshot below on why your status match proof may be rejected.

How long does it take to match?

The SLA is 3 business days as listed in the official FAQ.

I got it matched in 92 mins on a Saturday afternoon. Even faster than the 5 hours for Best Western status matching.

Is it worth GHA status matching?

Yes, as I mentioned at the top of this post.

Obviously, you should only match is if you have an upcoming stay at a GHA hotel. I recommend you start matching 3 calendar weeks before your stay, as it will take approximately 10 business days, for the one-time Discovery dollars gift of $50 (Platinum) or $75 (Titanium) after your status is approved. You want to make sure you can use those D$.

With the D$ gift, your net cost is $50 for Platinum ($100 fee - D$50) or $75 ($150 fee - D$75). The question you need to answer is whether you can get $50 or $75 worth of benefits in return.

Below is a summary of the benefits. For more details see my GHA Discovery loyalty program review.

Platinum matching

Many of you are undoubtedly skeptical of "subject to availability" benefits, so it's like a $50 gamble if you are matching to Platinum. You will get some value out of it if you do get the room upgrade for a stay of 2-nights or more. I don't think a 3pm late check-out is worth $50. See my review on the GHA program for commentary on Platinum.

Titanium matching

If you're Marriott Platinum or higher, Hilton Diamond or Hyatt Globalist you'll match to GHA Titanium and get tangible value such as free breakfast which can be used to calculate your ROI. A hotel breakfast is at least USD $20 in most parts of the world.

If you travel alone, $75 net cost can be offset by free breakfast for 3-4 days. If you travel as a couple, the member + 1 guest gets breakfast for free, so $75 can be offset by 2 days of breakfast. If traveling as a family, free or discounted breakfast for children is at hotel discretion as that's not in the GHA policy.

There is also a double room upgrade - 2 levels up - at Titanium, so if you get the double upgrade, even a solo 1-night stay and breakfast is likely worth $75.
