Cathay Pacific Asia Miles for children is the worst OneWorld program
On Jan 17th 2026, I finally got my child's Cathay Pacific Asia Miles account reactivated, 2 months after I submitted the request on Nov 7th, 2025! See my post on which OneWorld loyalty program is best for children for more details why Cathay Pacific's Asia Miles is not good.

Nonsense #1: I created my child's account in July 2025, and they deactivated it before November 2025.
Nonsense #2: Cathay also required my child's passport details to be resubmitted although they already have that information in their system. This is a reactivation and not an account signup. Do they think I'm going to find a stranger with the exact same name and birth date as my child and sell them access to the mileage on my child's account?
Nonsense #3: After reactivating my child's account, I also had to enter my Asia Miles number to my child's account although I created my child's account while I was logged in with that information, and also provided that same information in the 2 months long process.
Cathay, if you're listening, replace this 2 months long customer response time with some automation, not even AI. Avios took minutes to do the same things.
