I think the last time I flew American Airlines was due to great redemptions to South America about 20 years ago. Do I also fly United and Delta? Yes and yes, but I've decided to also give up Delta SkyMiles as it's easier to reach lifetime status with Korean Air at 500K miles.
Well, it kind of hurts a little to give up my progress towards Million Miler, but then again Million Miler only gets you OneWorld Ruby status; priority check-in and no lounge. As there's no lounge access even with Million Miler I'm happy to let this account go.

Priority check-in used to be great about 20 years ago. With good airlines these days the check-in is either not that long, or with great airports the check-in is largely automated now. The time savings and what I value priority check-in is at next to nothing now. It's perhaps 20 mins difference or less. Some airports - like the one in Hong Kong - also offer in-town check-in, which also diminishes the value of priority check-in given it's so quick and easy.
Does it really take that much effort for an airline to support Apple/Google logins? I'm tired of having 300+ logins, so I've decided to abandon all services that don't support an Apple/Google login. I don't want to deal with 300+ credentials even if I do have a password manager.
